Farm Visit Consultation
Our basic package includes a general overview of available land and the selection of ideal location(s) for planting truffle trees. However, we value the success of our customers and may make the recommendation that you do not plant seedlings if we have reason to believe the location isn’t ideal or will not be profitable.
Basic
Includes the following assessments in a written report:
- Climate assessment (temperatures, precipitation, etc.)
- Location visit to ascertain the suitability of the site as a truffle orchard
- Water quality test: includes pH and mineral analysis
- Soil quality: basic soil assessment (clay, silt, loam)
- Discussion with landowner and/or grower about the benefits and limitations of the property
- Selection of the best host/truffle pairing based on climate
Pricing:
$2500 + travel expenses
This is our recommended service before you begin the planting process. During this visit, we are able to proactively note and accommodate site conditions that landowners often miss. After this package, you will have an exact idea on how to plant your seedlings, the characteristics of your land, and finally what year to year management will be required to maintain the correct conditions in your location.
Extensive
Includes the following services:
- Climate assessment (temperature data, precipitation, etc.)
- Location visit to ascertain suitability of site as a truffle orchard
- Slope and gradient assessment
- Water sample(s) collected for analysis: includes pH and mineral levels
- Drainage assessment for soil; this test is very important to avoid rotting truffles
- Soil profile analysis: depth of topsoil, consistency over entire site
- Soil compaction test and recommendations for improvement
- Soil samples collected for analysis: pH, buffer capacity, lime application
- Discussion with landowner/grower about benefits and limitations of property
- Discussion of planting density: given in trees/acre

This package is offered for owners of productive or non-productive orchards, and aims to solve any complications that have arisen in your orchard. Findings are discussed over phone or via Skype and include insight into the inoculation and health of your trees. With this information, we design a unique solution and step by step process on what is necessary either to improve production, or begin production altogether in non-productive orchards.
Established Orchard Visit
Includes the following:
- Walk through of orchard: pest inspection and management solutions
- Soil compaction tests: individualized solutions to improve soil texture
- Soil test(s) collected and submitted for complete lab analysis
- Pruning recommendations and demonstrations: improves truffle orchard yields
- Truffle re-inoculation: this helps to initiate fruiting in previously non-productive orchards, and re-establish fruiting in declining orchards
- Irrigation assessment and/or troubleshooting if required
- Harvesting method introductions and review
